Making Equipment for People with Disabilities

Volunteers who make equipment for disabled people are at the heart of our work, using their inventive ability and practical skills to overcome problems.

Many are mechanical engineers, but we also have electronics and computing experts, people skilled with wood, those with a passion for model engineering, in fact all sorts of people with a talent for making things.

You will meet the disabled people we help, often with an occupational therapist who can provide clinical input. You will design and make the required equipment, provide basic documentation and take photographs to illustrate.

Out of pocket expenses are paid and all our volunteers participate in local group meetings where the current projects and items of general interest are discussed.
